During an expedition with the Horses and Huskies team you will learn how to drive your own sled and manage your team of huskies and enjoy breakthtaking views on top of the Andes. See below the types of tours we offer and please note that we are flexible and the tours can vary depending on the guest’s needs and time-allowance.

This is an all inclusive week spent in and around Pino Hachado learning all there is to know about mushing. You’ll learn about the different types of sleddogs bred to perform in their specifi surroundings and their history. The majority of the nights are spent in a cabin, with minimum one night sleeping in the Dome base camp at 1800m above sea level. You’ll learn how to drive a sled in the Andes – open plateaus, up and down hills, and crossing small frozen rivers.

If you’re after wilderness, this is for you… 6 days out riding your own sled and managing your own team of huskies. We cover the area from Pino Hachado, following the mountainous borderline with Chile to the Batea Mahuida volcano via El Paso del Arco and crossing a plateau on top of the Andes called the Meseta del Arco where the views are second to none. We carry all the food and equipment with us and set up wild camps.

During the 3 days, we make base camp at our Dome-camp and make daily expeditions; around Mallin Chileno, up to the Meseta del Arco and a traverse across to the next valley, Litran. Guests drive their own sled and manage their own team of huskies.

During the two days, we explore the area of Mallin Chileno with the sleddogs and spend the night in our Dome-camp in the wilderness. The second day includes a trip up to the Mesete del Arco (weather dependent). The guests drive their own sled and manage their own team of huskies.

From our home in Pino Hachado, we set out towards Mallin Chileno, a vast and open valley. Guests drive their own sled and manage their own team of dogs. We reach the Dome-camp for lunch and a rest before making our way back during the afternoon.
